Uber Cup 2024: Indonesia face defending champions Korea in semifinal
Indonesia will lock horns with defending champions Korean at the Uber Cup 2024 Semifinal as Japan and China will be battling for finalists.
After India, Thailand bowed out of the Uber Cup 2024 after defeats at badminton powerhouse Indonesia in the quarterfinal.

Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, a force to be reckoned with, put on a spectacular display in the Uber Cup quarterfinal fixture against Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon, securing a win in two straight sets, 22-20, 21-18.
Then, Indonesia’s doubles and Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo finished up their opponents with an impressive run. The Double’s clash entertained the Chengdu crowds, China with an exciting rally between the ladies.
On the other courts, reigning champions Korea, with their aces An ye Young, Baek Ha Na, Lee So Hee and Sim Yu Jin, cruised past their opponents to continue the journey of defending the titles.
The 2024 Thomas and Uber Cup, officially known as TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2024, will be the 33rd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 30th edition of the Uber Cup.

Semifinal clashes: Indonesia to face Korea
China and Japan will contest an Uber Cup semifinal after 20 years. At the same time, Korea will expect toughness from the Indonesian ladies in the second semifinal.
Indonesia is searching for their first Uber Cup final since 1998 after finally ending the long, poor run that saw them bow out at quarterfinal for the quarterfinal five straight times.
Meanwhile, China would love for a re-match of the 2022 final, in which Korea defeated them in Denmark.
