Jason was all business early, as he held off any possible comebacks by Cheam and finished the match in 37 minutes.

The Singaporean eventually reached the main tournament proper after posting a 21-10, 21-14 victory over India’s Sameer Verma.

Jason will make his main tournament debut against another Indian shuttler K. Sathish Kumar on Wednesday, New Straits Times reported.

Another Malaysian shuttler, Leong Jun Hao, will open his campaign against Spaniard Pablo Abian.

DANISH MEN’S DUO OUSTS MALAYSIAN TANDEM

In men’s doubles action, William Kryger Boe and Christian Faust Kjaer defeated Low Hang Yee and Ng Eng Cheong, 21-16, 21-19.

The Danish duo sustained their strong start in the initial set to hold off their Malaysian counterparts in 31 minutes.

Boe and Kjaer are next scheduled to take on Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yang of China.
