MALAYSIAN PAIR BUCKS LATE SCARE TO WIN

Meanwhile, Tan Kian Meng and Lai Pei Jing overcame a late scare from Gregory Mairs and Jenny Mairs of England to pull off a 24-22, 20-22, 21-19 victory.

The Malaysian independent mixed doubles pair proved steadier in the crucial parts of the deciding set.  This enabled them to hurdle the English husband and wife tandem and advance to the next round

Kian Meng and Pei Jing will next face Indonesia’s Rinov Rivaldy and Pitha Hanityas Mentari for a place in the quarter-finals.
