BAM national director of coaching, Rexy Mainaky speaks at a recent news conference. Rexy agrees to BAM's approach of "pack mentality" in seeking more international titles

BAM TO MIRROR CHINA’S ‘PACK MENTALITY’ IN WORLD TOUR

Expect BAM to mirror China’s “pack mentality” by sending several doubles pairs on the world tour this month.

Furthermore, BAM is fielding six doubles pairs to split playing in the Arctic and Denmark Opens.

Moreover, world No.5 Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik will lead the charge of Malaysian pairs in the European legs of the world tour.

BAM national director of coaching, Rexy Mainaky, confirmed that this approach, first mastered in China several decades ago, will be used.

The Arctic Open is scheduled for October 8-13, while the Denmark Open is scheduled for October 15-20.

REXY CONFIRMS BAM APPROACH SIMILAR TO 2005-07

Moreover, Rexy confirmed BAM’s approach was similar to what the association had from 2005-07.

At the time, Malaysia fielded Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong, who led five other pairs in international play.

Furthermore, Kien Keat and Boon Heong won the gold medal at the 2006 Doha Asian Games and the silver medal at the 2010 World Championships in Paris.

At the time, Rexy was men’s doubles head coach from 2005-12.

Meanwhile, World No.8 Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin will join Aaron and Wooi Yik in seeking titles for Malaysia in the world tour.

MALAYSIA SHOULD NOT RELY ONLY ON AARON-WOOI YIK PAIR

Furthermore, Malaysia should not just rely on the Aaron and Wooi Yik pair in seeking world tour titles.

Moreover, Rexy cited several Malaysian pairs who are all capable of contending for world titles.

“It’s not just Aaron-Wooi Yik, there are five other Malaysian pairs who have good quality,” the BAM official said.

“Most of the pairs are in a positive mood and in great shape. So we can expect some good results,” he added.

The Sze Fei-Izzuddin pair, for one, is coming off wins at the Japan and China Opens.
