2024 DENMARK OPEN ACTION SEES JONATAN OUST JUN HAO

The 2024 Denmark Open action sees Indonesia’s top men’s singles shuttler Jonatan oust Jun Hao, 21-16, 21-14.

PV SINDHU ADVANCES AFTER OPPONENT RETIRED IN SECOND SET

Moreover, PV Sindhu advanced after her opponent retired in the second set.

Furthermore, India’s double Olympic medallist was leading 21-8 13-7, when Pai Yu Po of Chinese Taipei called it quits.

It was a positive change for Sindhu, who was eliminated in the first round of the Arctic Open last week.

Coaches Anup Sridhar and Lee Hyun-il of Korea still have their work cut out for Sindhu in her next matches.

Sindhu could face Han Yue of China in the second round.

LU GUANG ZU OUSTS LAKSHYA SEN

In another featured men’s singles match, Lu Gang Zu of China outlasted India’s Lakshya Sen, 12-21, 21-19, 21-14.

Lu dropped the opening set but found his way to hold off Sen to force a decider.

Furthermore, the Chinese shuttler then out-steadied his Indian counterpart in the final set to advance to the Super 750 tournament.

Lu rattled off six match points before watch Sen go long in the final possession to seal the win.

It was another tough loss for Sen, who also was eliminated in the second round of the Arctic Open.
